Why We Don’t Dive in Monsoon

June to September the southwest monsoon hits the Andamans. Why Continental Scuba’s season is October to May, and what to do if your dates fall in the rain.

October to May

That is our diving season. The southwest monsoon brings wind, rain, and runoff. Exposed sites pick up swell. Viz in the shallows can go from a garden to brown. Currents get awkward. It is a poor first dive and a poor Open Water classroom.

The reef is still there year-round. Fewer boats in monsoon is an accidental rest. We come back in October — see Havelock reefs.

If your holiday is in the rain months, join the waitlist on booking or WhatsApp. We will not pretend a July day is February.
