Names we actually brief
Continental Scuba is on Beach No. 5. The boat plan is weather, current, and who is in the water — not a tourist checklist. These are the Havelock sites we already publish on the site and in the shop brief.
Johnny’s Gorge
A named Havelock site for certified guests when the sea allows. Expect current on some days, more life in the blue, and a briefing that matters. We do not send a first Try Scuba here.
Dixon’s Pinnacle
A pinnacle, not a lagoon. Depth and current are why it sits after skills catch up — SSI lists it among sites for this centre. If you are new, you will hear the name on the boat long before you drop on it.
Aquarium and Seduction Point
Shallower colour and fish. Useful classroom reefs when we want light, a slower group, or a first look after Try Scuba. Names people remember from a week on Havelock even if the logbook says something else.
How we choose on the day
- First-timers and non-swimmers stay with an instructor in sheltered water. Try Scuba.
- Open Water students get sites that match the skill we are teaching that dive. SSI Open Water.
- Certified guests: fun dives on reefs the briefing allows — including Johnny’s Gorge and Dixon’s Pinnacle when they are the right call.
We do not list every rock on the island. If another shop’s blog names a site we do not brief, that is their map, not ours.
