What Try Scuba Includes
Continental Scuba’s introductory dive in Havelock: what you learn, how deep it stays, and why it is not an Open Water card.

First dive, with an instructor
Try Scuba is our introductory dive. You learn enough to be safe with us, you go under, you come up. You are not certified to hire kit and dive on your own afterwards. A resort dive somewhere else does not count as a card either.
The morning
We cover the regulator, mask, BCD, and the hand signs you will use. Then water: breathing, a slow descent, equalising, and a guided look at the reef. Shore or boat depends on the package and the sea. The instructor stays with you. We keep the ratio tight.
You do not need to be a strong swimmer. You do need to be all right with your face in the water. More on that in the non-swimmer guide.
Try Scuba is not SSI Open Water. It is not a certified fun dive. It is not snorkelling with a tank for photos.
If you already want more days
If you know you want two or three days in the water, or you want to dive with a buddy after this trip, look at SSI Open Water. Plenty of people Try Scuba on day one and start the course when they cannot stop talking about it.
Book Try Scuba or WhatsApp the shop with your dates.
