Can Non-Swimmers Do Try Scuba?
You do not need a swim certificate for Continental Scuba’s introductory dive. You do need to be all right with your face in the water. What we can and cannot do.

Yes — on Try Scuba, with an instructor
You do not need to be a strong swimmer for our Try Scuba / introductory dive. You need basic water comfort: face in, breathing, without panic. SSI Open Water and unsupervised fun dives are different. Those need swimming skills and a card.
What we run for first-timers - Try Scuba, shore or boat, one instructor with you - The same intro inside [couple](/trips/couple) and [honeymoon](/trips/honeymoon) weeks if both of you are new
What we will not skip
On Try Scuba the instructor can hold the BCD if you need it, stay in shallow calm water (we cap the intro at 12 m), and stop for a surface break. Tell us how you feel about water when you book. Reef-safe sunscreen only — the usual stuff sheds into the lagoon.
If Open Water is the goal, we assess swimming during the course. Be honest up front. Sai would rather talk it through on WhatsApp than surprise you on the beach.
