Port Blair vs Havelock Scuba Diving
Port Blair is the airport and jail. Havelock is the dive island. Why a city boat is not the same as Beach No. 5, and how we use Port Blair in a week.

Port Blair is the door. Havelock is the water.
Port Blair (Sri Vijaya Puram) is where the plane stops. Cellular Jail, museums, the Ross Island boat, the ferry you need. It is a city. It is not Beach No. 5.
Search scuba diving in Port Blair and you will find day-trip water sports. Helmet walks, glass boats, a short snorkel. Fine if you have four hours and no ferry. It is not SSI Try Scuba with an instructor who will still be on the island tomorrow.
What we do in Port Blair
On published retreats: airport pickup, Ross Island boat, jail light-and-sound, then the Havelock crossing. Tanks start after you have slept on Havelock.
Independent guests: land, ferry, come to Shangrila’s Resort, Beach No. 5. How: how to reach Havelock. Ross confusion: Ross Island scuba.
What we do not do
We do not run a Port Blair try-dive kiosk. We do not quote another shop’s North Bay rate. Live GST totals for our intros sit on Try Scuba.
If your only night is Port Blair and you fly out at dawn, skip the tank. Wait for a trip with Havelock nights. Andaman scuba itinerary.
Book once the ferry is real. WhatsApp if the city stay is messy.
